"When there's a will - there's a way.."
Quoted and proved by Michael Perthu. He is 42 years old, and used to work as an international model in New York, London, Paris and Milan. A couple of years ago he came up with two very different product ideas. Both products are unique in design as well as functionality, have global potential and acted as news to the world. Due to this, he established two companies:
Bodyshower (www.bodyshower.com), which produces mobile showers and
Union Medico (www.unionmedico.com), which develops injection systems, making it more safe and convenient to inject and minimizes the fear of needles - and thereby injecting.
Michael Perthu is a very practical person, and persistent as well. He acts with determination until he succeeds. He has a saying,
"It's only your own limitations, that prevents you from achieving your goals." A will, which has contributed to the start-up of his two companies, and influenced in the lifestyle on Michaels. He has alwas had the interest in rock- and mountain climbing, but that he actually still manages to go on the steep cliffs, is based on the fact that this man is a true believer in the saying,
"When there's a will there's a way."
Foolhardy, many peolple might think, but this is a matter of lifestyle as well as one learns to make quick decisions under such extreme conditions.
"My fingers tingled a little bit before we started the climb", so in some ways Michael sensed that something was approaching, but hadn't the faintest idea that it was an attack.
The year before, Michael had had problems with his sight and went partly blind for a period, but the disease hadn't been diagnosed yet.
But now he was hanging on a steep wall of ice, 200 m from the top, with an ice hatchet in each hand.
"It was not the most convenient time to get an attack in my arms. You know the feeling when your body begins to fail."

Michael at the foot of the mountain (1998)
Michael continues:
"At this point I still didn't know what was wrong with me. I thought the symptoms, making me feel bad, might be due to Mountain Sickness.
Survive!, that word kept whirling in my mind and was all I kept focusing on, since other climbers down the mountain started dugging into the snow due to exhaustion and also because a storm was brewing. They were later found dead, but we managed to reach the top and get back down safely.
At this moment I was realizing that feeling so unwell couldn't be due to Mountain Sickness, and suddenly I got a strong feeling that something else was wrong with my arms.
I ignored these thoughts on the way down from the top, since it was just a matter of getting down, no matter what."
"Shortly afterwards, MS was diagnosed and I started treatment with Interferon beta. Interferon beta has allowed me the freedom to carry on almost as I did before I had my diagnosis."
